Ærø trip with twilight landing in Måløv

by Natalie Kjaergaard

Last Friday I invited Lars to join me on a trip to the island of Ærø (Aero) as a co-pilot.

As more south we headed, as better the weather became. Beautiful view over Sønderborg:

We had such a good laugh because I couldn’t mount the GoPro in a proper way. Lars was making fun of my photographer skills, and I was simply crying of laughter:

Northern part of the island of Ærø before landing on RWY15:

Around 7 km cycling along the coast, and we are in Ærøskøbing.

Ærøskøbing is Denmark’s most beautiful city dating from 1700s.

The houses and streets are well-preserved, and you cannot help but stop and stare, and take lots of pictures.

Alluring roses are everywhere:

The house on the picture below is probably the most photographed one in Ærøskøbing.  I’ve often seen a queue there to take a picture.

It was hard to have to leave this world of peace and tranquillity, but the sun was getting down.

We headed home. Langelandsbælt from 4000 feet:

… and it was getting darker quickly.

Gundsømagle lake:

The city of Veksø west of our home airfield:

Right base  to RWY27:

Final RWY27:

… and successful landing.

One more wonderful day we will remember…
