This autumn I reached 700 airborne hours in my logbook, and 1000 landings. What a milestone! Time flies…
I could easily had timed it to happen in one and the same day or flight, but it didn’t matter that much. Flying is about the joy of flying, not counting hours.
I love autumn, and looking down at a blanket of trees where the colours blend together is such a pleasure!
The days are getting shorter, and the sun stays low in the sky, even at midday. Looking down, the world seemed small and calm, and the clouds – close enough to touch:
I enjoyed my freedom in the air, feeling light, peaceful and limitless.
The low sun casted a warm, golden light that made the trees glow even brighter. Roads, crossing through the forests, divided the colorful blanket into different sections:
Lakes, coloured deep blue, looked stunning in the landscape:
The sun goes down around 4.30 p.m. at this time of the year in our part of the world, and the daylight fades quickly.
Those flights, where I logged 1000 landings and 700 hours, gave a strong feeling of fulfillment and gratitude. I reflected over my own way of becoming a pilot, challenges I overcame, mistakes I learned from, achievements I’m proud of, and the joy of experiencing the world from above.
Each hour and each landing represents a story, a memory, a lesson learned, for every pilot. It is a proof of our dedication and love for flying.
